How is hop gun / hop cannon working? 

The equipment is connected to the fermenter or brite tank, adding hops

1. The fermenter material outlet is connected to the sanitary centrifugal pump inlet, the centrifugal pump outlet is connected to the hop gun d port, and the hop gun b port is connected to the fermenter circulation inlet (generally located in the middle or upper part of the fermenter); the hose connection port Ensure safe disinfection;

2, open the manhole cover of the hop gun, put the hops, the amount of hops is about 1/3 of the capacity of the hop gun, the first time to put as much as possible, can be added in multiple batches;

After the addition is completed, all the valve squirt guns are closed to pressurize the pressure to the fermenter. The carbon dioxide source is connected to the f port, and the pressure gauge is observed to prepare for pressure;

Add hops

1. All pipeline connections are completed, hops are added, and the bottom material valve of the fermenter, the squirt gun d port valve, the hop gun C1 valve (first open the CI valve to open the bottom stacked hops), the hop gun b port valve, the fermenter Circulating port valve, after the whole pipeline pressure is stable, open the circulation pump, cycle, open the squirt gun C2 valve for 1-3 minutes, and cycle the whole for about 45 minutes. After watching the internal liquor is relatively stable through the sight glass, stop the circulation. Pump, close the fermenter material valve, press the carbon dioxide through the f port into the fermenter, close the fermenter circulation inlet valve

Note: If the hop immersion is found to be low, the cycle time can be extended.

2. Remove the pressure of the hop gun, drain the last hop residue through the drain outlet, and open the CIP cleaning ball for cleaning;

3. After the whole equipment is cleaned, remove the relevant pipelines.
